SHIPBUILDING ZONE OF PERAMA- ATHENS & EPIDAVROS FESTIVAL
A sacrifice is required for the ships to set sail: this is the subject matter of Euripides’ tragedy
Synopsis
Konstantinos Mihos’ adaptation brings together dozens of professional and amateur performers, citizens, workers, and students living in Piraeus. Michos casts a light on the Piraeus shipbuilding and vessel maintenance zone. The body in all its various postures and conditions – falling, crushed, mutilated, burning, suffocating, daring, inviting, compassionate, and expectant – is presented through the narratives of people employed at the port and enacted by dancers, actors, and locals.
